2009 Chrysler Aspen Hybrid

2009 Chrysler Aspen Hybrid is becoming more and more popular now, people begin to pay high attention on this cool new car. We noticed it a few days ago, and we feel it is worth reviewing, so now we are going to talk about here.

A 2009 Chrysler Aspen Hybrid model goes on sale summer 2008 featuring a two-mode hybrid gas-electric system designed to improve fuel economy and reduce emissions.

The 2009 Chrysler Aspen gets a new gas/electric Hybrid model and more available power for what will be its final model year. Aspen is a luxury-trimmed version of Dodge’s Durango. The two share traditional conventional gasoline V8 and hybrid powertrains, as well as seating for up to eight. Aspen comes in a single Limited trim level. Standard on conventional models is a 303-hp 4.7-liter V8 engine. Optional is a 376-hp 5.7-liter version of Chrysler’s Hemi V8. That’s a 41 hp increase over the 2008 Hemi. Hybrids have a 5.7-liter Hemi V8 that pairs with a battery-powered electric motor for 385 hp. They can run on either gas or electric power or both, depending on driving needs. No plug-in charging is needed. Both 5.7-liter engines have Chrysler’s Multi-Displacement System, which shuts down four cylinders when cruising to save fuel. A 5-speed automatic is the only transmission in gasoline models, while the hybrid gets a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). Conventional Aspens are available with rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. Hybrids are AWD only. Maximum towing capacity is 8900 lb for conventional models, 6000 lb for the Hybrid.

The Aspens’ suspension is the same independent, double-wishbone front and non-independent solid-axle rear design found on the Durango. The woodgrain/metal-look interior is available with either cloth or leather seats. Available in one trim, Limited, the Aspen comes with a 303-hp 4.7-liter V8 or a 335-hp 5.7-liter Hemi V8 engine and either rear- or all-wheel drive. Both engines are mated to a five-speed automatic transmission and the Hemi V8 includes the Multi-displacement System (MDS) which is capable of shutting down 4 cylinders to conserve fuel.

Two V8 engines are available, plus the Hybrid. Buyers can choose between rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive (AWD or 4WD) with either standard engine. The Hybrid is offered only with all-wheel drive. The standard V8 powertrains earn decent fuel economy ratings, either matching the competition or at worst giving up no more than one or two miles per gallon. The 5.7-liter Hemi V8 gains 30 horsepower for 2009.

The Aspen is a nice-looking SUV with styling that features Chrysler’s traditional but subdued egg-crate grille, mildly curvaceous bodylines reminiscent of the Dodge Durango, and an attractively sculpted tailgate. The wheel wells are filled with good-looking 18- or 20-inch chrome rims.

2009 Chrysler Aspen Hybrid Price: $30,241

This is a medium price for such a car. But I think it is a little expensive, they should cut it down to attract more buyers.

Now let’s watch a video about 2009 Chrysler Aspen Hybrid.
