2009 Dodge Grand Caravan

Today we’re going to introduce 2009 Dodge Grand Caravan, which is a very latest auto this year, more and more people begin to talk it, seems it would be a very popular car in 2009. But the truth is it is not so good even though it is very affordable.

The 2009 Grand Caravan is a 4-door, 7-passenger mini van, available in two trims, the SE and the SXT.

The SE is equipped with a standard 3.3-liter, V6, 175-horsepower engine that achieves 17-mpg in the city and 24-mpg on the highway. A 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard. The SXT is equipped with a standard 3.8-liter, V6, 197-horsepower engine that achieves 16-mpg in the city and 23-mpg on the highway. A 6-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard. Edmunds.com described 2009 Dodge Grand Caravan like this:

What Edmunds.com says
Despite loads of innovative, family-friendly features, the 2009 Dodge Grand Caravan is poorly made and nearly impossible to recommend.

Pros
Innovative rear seating options, kid-friendly entertainment options, loads of space, powerful 4.0-liter V6 engine, superb safety scores.

Cons
Poor build quality, substandard interior materials, Stow ‘n Go seats aren’t very comfortable, slow and inefficient base engine, confusing option packages, not as nimble as other minivans.

Three engines are available under the Grand Caravan’s hood, all V6s.

The base engine is a 3.3 liter V6 with 175 horsepower and flex-fuel ethanol capability.

The mid-range engine is a 3.8-liter V6 with 197 horsepower.

And the top-of-the-line engine is a 4.0-liter V6 with 251 horsepower.

These engines are mated to either a four-speed or six-speed automatic transmission.

The price: From $22,725

This is a very affordable price, I guess there will be many people buy this auto because of the cheap price.

New for 2009:

The base model Grand Caravan SE gains more standard equipment for 2009, including Stow ‘n Go seating. The upmarket SXT gains more optional equipment, including a dedicated iPod interface, rain-sensing wipers, a blind-spot monitoring system and the new Rear Cross Path System. All Grand Caravans get improved brakes, while the SXT with the 4.0-liter V6 gets a sport-tuned suspension derived from the European version of the van.
