Today we are going to introduce 2010 Ford Flex EcoBoost, which is a very popular car, now more and more people are falling in love with it, so I think it’s right time to share it with you guys. Well, let’s find out what’s special in this car.
The 2010 Ford Flex EcoBoost gains a telescoping function for its steering wheel and a new engine with more available power. Introduced for the 2009 model year, this boxy 4-door wagon shares some of its basic design with Ford’s Edge crossover SUV.
Flex comes in three trim levels: base SE, mid-level SEL, and top-line Limited. All offer front-wheel drive. All-wheel drive is available on the SEL and Limited. Flex is distinguished not only by its squared-off shape but also by contrasting roof and body colors and use of exterior chrome accents.
2010 Ford Flex EcoBoost seats either six or seven on three rows of seats. A 262-hp 3.5-liter V6 engine is standard on all Flex models. The AWD SEL and Limited are available with a 355-hp turbocharged 3.5-liter V6. Versions so equipped are called “EcoBoost” and are priced as separate models.
EcoBoost-equipped Flex models also include several specific features including steering-wheel mounted shift paddles and a grade assist function for the transmission, electric power steering with “Pull-Drift Compensation,” and a self-parking feature. Both engines pair with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Maximum towing capacity is 4500 lb., and when equipped with the optional tow package, a trailer sway control system is included.
“People who drive the Flex want to make a statement, and the new twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6 is very much in keeping with that attitude,” said Ron Heiser, chief engineer of the Ford Flex. “We’re proud and excited to add Ford’s most advanced engine, which is the first V-6 direct-injection twin turbocharged engine produced in North America, to the Flex line.”
Inside, the 2010 Ford Flex offers a roomy interior with real-world space for up to seven adults. Entry and exit from the front seats is easy because of the low step-in height and large door openings. Access to the second- and third-row seats is similarly low-effort, at least by wagon and crossover standards, though it’s still not as easy as a minivan.
Who love this vehicle most? Family shoppers with a need to haul both people and cargo, but a desire to avoid the frumpy minivan or stereotypical crossover, should strongly consider the 2010 Ford Flex. The new EcoBoost drivetrain and Trailer Sway Control option expand the Flex’s sporty character and functionality, while high-tech features like Sync and Active Park Assist will appeal to fans of the latest automotive technology.
Price: From $28,550
This is a medium price for such a popular Ford car, people are glad to accept it.
