If you are searching for a fashionable car in 2009, then the 2010 Ford Taurus is your ideal choice. Why? Because it has many cool features to draw people’s high attention.
CNET reviewed the 2010 Ford Taurus auto like this:
The good:
The EcoBoost engine in the 2010 Ford Taurus SHO turns in blistering acceleration while sport suspension elements and standard all-wheel-drive keep the car steady in the corners. Sync delivers excellent phone and MP3 player support while Sirius Travel Link makes traffic reports and gas prices available. The bad:
With its high sides, judging the size of the Taurus SHO from the driver’s seat can be difficult. Its bulk makes it less-than-nimble in turns. The bottom line:
The 2010 Ford Taurus SHO combines an impressively fast, cutting edge engine with cabin tech that is still ahead of the competition–even after appearing in Ford cars for a year already.
Quite fair review, I totally agree.
Ford has repositioned the Taurus as more of a personal luxury sedan, the likes of which have not been seen wearing a Ford badge in many, many years. Ford has decided to combine elements of its “Bold American” and European “Kinetic” design language for the 2010 model.
The new Taurus is powered by the automaker’s 3.5-liter V6 Duratec engine, mated to one of two available six-speed automatic transmissions, including SelectShift with shift paddle shifters mounted on the steering wheel. As was the case with the previous model, all-wheel-drive is optional.
“Lightning can strike twice,” said Peter Horbury, Ford’s North American design director. “Like the 1986 original, the new 2010 Taurus differentiates by combining style with substance.”
Pros:
- Acceleration (SHO)
- Steering/handling (SHO)
- Quietness
- Ride (non-SHO models)
Cons:
- Automatic-transmission performance (non-SHO models)
- Rear-seat headroom
- Ride (SHO)
All around, the 2010 Ford Taurus presents an interesting new shape. The old VW Passat-like roofline is gone, replaced with a crisper profile that hints at the smaller Ford Fusion. The front fenders are pronounced and the roof is lowered, giving the sedan a sportier stance. Up front it’s less than perfect; with a broad upper chrome bar, three dissimilar painted bars below, a new grille, and wrap-around headlights, there’s a lot to take in at first glance. The rear fenders are most interesting, with sculpted shoulders and firm, straight character lines playing off each other in a way no Taurus has ever seen. Inside, the Taurus is more focused; defined areas for the driver and front passenger are marked with a low, long center console. The instrument cluster presents information to the driver in three, deeply recessed gauges, and lots of blue-lit gauges and small black buttons are placed logically. Standard Tauruses wear more traditional faux-wood and plastic trim, while the SHO gets special badging, glossy black dash trim, and more metallic highlights inside and out, as well as a trunklid spoiler, twin chrome exhaust tips, and a snazzier grille.
The Price: $25,170 – $37,170
The price is very reasonable, people are glad to accept it, this is another reason why it could be so popular.

Love the car so far … BUT … why on earth did they have to make it 1″ LONGER than the FORD FLEX ??? And what’s with the under-performing brakes (at least according to the consensus of the Auto Press … ???)
